Blogging Idol Secrets Revealed
(How I Gained Over 500 New RSS Subscribers in 30 Days Flat)
So … I wrote my first eBook and you’re in luck … I’ve decided to give it away for free!
I asked a few online friends to give it a read-over and let me know what they thought. I got great feedback … in fact, they all said I was crazy for giving it away … thought I should sell it and make me some money LOL (even had a couple requests for an affiliate program).
Well … I got a lot of support during the Blogging Idol competition so this is one way for me to “pay it forward.”
I share tips and ideas for driving traffic to your blog and I share what I did to get my visitors to actually subscribe to my blog. I tried to be as thorough and detailed as possible with step-by-step instructions and screenshots for many of the tips.
There’s a lot of really good information in the eBook … but the sad truth is that most people who read it won’t actually implement the ideas. As I’ve always said … if you want to succeed online you’ll have to actually work at this business.
I’m here to help in any way I can but I’m sure you can understand that I can’t (won’t) do it for you … you’ll need to put in the work yourself.

Nice to see, you giving away such a great book for free however I’m not willing to get it in return of subscription. I usually believe, this type of offer made to get good number of subscriber which later can be used to send useless or may be useful email. If you think this book is useful then just give 2-3 chapter for demo reading.

Hi Arafat ~ Thanks for the comment … it really is very valuable feedback. Offering a free eBook in exchange for your email address can be a great tool to grow you list of subscribers … but if you give away junk and/or bombard your readers with worthless emails afterward … they will not only opt out but not trust you very much in the future. I feel the eBook is very high quality and I don’t plan on sending out a bunch of worthless emails to my list. The first email I send out after the opt in is an article that goes in to more detail on something I mention in the eBook. I’d love for you to download the eBook … and then come back here and let me know if you think it was worth it or not to give your email. If I ever send out crappy emails in the future … you can come back here and say I told you so … LOL … is that fair enough? I wouldn’t want you to miss out on the great info in the book out of fear (besides you can opt out of the list at any time right?). *huGs* Suzanne

I have found over time the same thing you have found.
In order to have a public following, and especially if one wants to make a living online, one needs to have three things:
1) A great product or service that stands out from the crowd.
2) A great approach to the public
3) Persistence
It’s hard to miss if all three are present. Unfortunately, the “training” that our young people are getting at university on the undergraduate level these days falls quite a bit short of what is needed to offer the first of these. I fear for them. We can’t find American youth to fill our science research grad schools any more. We have to recruit Asian and Indian students who stay sober most of the time. Our kids seem to end up in law school or on Dad’s couch. It’s not a pretty picture.

Hi Koen ~ I hope you get a lot out of the eBook. There is a ton of great information in there … but as i always say … very few readers will actually implement the ideas (especially since it was free LOL). I hope it helps … as for future paid products … never say never. *SmiLes*
I think the eBook was just alright. It has some good info for beginners but by far your best tip and out of the box strategy was the personalized video message you sent to the top bloggers – nice.
What is your end goal with this blog though? I ask because I spent a long time running a blog in the MMO niche commenting, guest posting etc. etc. and I never really earned much money. Then when I quit the blog and went to another niche I started earning several thousand dollars a month.

I did put a lot of time and energy into it and when I said many told me I was crazy for giving it away I wasn’t kidding (sounds like your typical IM hype I know LOL). But … I really do believe in paying it forward and many of my readers were there for me when I needed them in the Blogging Idol contest and it’s one way for me to pay them back so to speak. We’ve only just met but I know you would’ve supported me too … we are both total “givers” and I can appreciate that.

I wonder if they’re still holding contests.
