BANS (Build a Niche) Profits for August 2008

*

As promised, I am going to post my EPN (eBay Partner Network) stats and profits for August 2008. EPN is eBay’s affiliate program and I’m using a combination of ideas and techniques for making money with their program … but my #1 way of profiting from eBay still remains BANS (Build A Niche Store).

I haven’t spent a lot of time or energy using the other methods because BANS just plain works … but from time to time I will also want to diversify with some other ways to promote eBay auctions.

I put more time and effort into my marketing in August and it really paid off. I also started a new store and it did great! We went camping for the long holiday weekend and I didn’t have access to the internet … I couldn’t wait to get home (once we were driving) so I could check my numbers! OK … it’s official … I’m a BANS addict!

Here’s the breakdown for August – Stats and Profits: 5047 clicks, 8 CRUs, 6 ACRUs, 501 bids, 172 winning bids, bid revenue $693.70, and $150 for the 6 ACRUs … for a monthly grand total of $531.51 (nearly doubling my $269.41 profits for July).

As mentioned, I added a new store in August – so I’m up to 4 stores. Prior to this month my stores had always performed in the order that they were built … but that’s no longer the case. From here forward I will refer to my stores using the alphabet order (A, B, C, etc.) referring to the order in which they were built. Then I will rate them numerically based on their profit performance for the month.

With that said, Store A (remember – first store built) earned $80.97 – making it my #3 store (for profits). This was down substantially from last month (I believe it earned just under $200 last month and has always been my #1 store). This store has fairly seasonal products so I was expecting this somewhat. Of course I thought it would hold out through September but apparently not. I have some ideas in mind to work-around this and I’ll post them as I implement them.

Store B (built second) earned $251.16 and became my #1 store for the month. I can directly attribute this to the effort I put into promoting the store. For some reason Google just doesn’t send me very much traffic for this site and it’s almost all referral traffic from ads and links. I’d really like to work hard at getting more search engine traffic so it will be on more of an auto-pilot some day. For now, I’ll roll up my sleeves and keeping working at it.

Store C (built third) earned $1.75 … you read that right … was (and still is) my #4 store! I have not put much time, work, or energy into this store and clearly it shows! I am still on the fence as to whether or not invest the time into it … but it does have a great Christmas product line so I might just stick it out for the holidays and see how it does.

Store D (built mid-August) did awesome … especially for it’s first (partial) month online … bringing in $191.90 and moving up to be my #2 store! I did spend some time on my SEO and on thinking out and organizing my store pages … but it wasn’t nearly the work as Stores A and B … proving that there is a learning curve to setting up BANS stores and I am growing more and more confident in choosing a niche and setting up and promoting my stores. My traffic was split almost 50/50 between search traffic and the ads I placed. For me this new store was a true success story!

The other $5 bucks came from various links and widgets I have on blogs and sites.

I’ve mentioned over and over that there are two different approaches to the BANS business building model. There’s the method of slapping up as many stores as possible … right “out of the box” without any work or customization or search engine optimization … much less marketing. And then there’s the method I prefer … quality over quantity. I do believe “Slow and steady wins the race.” I just can’t say this enough … so be ready to hear it over and over here on the blog!

My initial goal with my BANS business was to get each of my 3 stores making at least $100/mo. and then start up 3 more stores … wash, rinse, repeat. With that in mind, my BANS goal for August was $400 … and it was an amazing feeling to exceed that goal.

I am also going to start posting my goals here … I think this will help motivate me and will hold me accountable to do the work necessary to hit … or even succeed … my goals.

BANS Goal For September 2008 … I Will Earn At Least $800.00 … On or Before September 30, 2008!

My BANS Profits for June 2008

It’s time to post my EPN (eBay Partner Network) stats and profits for June 2008.

I have 3 active BANS (Build A Niche Stores) stores and I have been adding eBay links and auction widgets to a couple of my blogs. I made most of the earnings from 2 of my 3 stores and then a small amount from the eBay affiliate links I have out on my blogs.

Stats and profits: 1,757 clicks, 4 CRUs resulting in 4 ACRUs ($25.00/each), 179 bids, 42 winning bids, $103.86 in winning bid revenue and $100.00 from the 4 ACRUs … for total monthly earnings of $203.36.

BANS Profits June 2008

I spent some time in June optimizing my store pages but didn’t spend as much time as I should’ve writing new content. Specifically I need to write more articles to add to the stores and to submit to the article directories.

My goal with my BANS stores is to work up to averaging $100.00 per store. Now that I’m getting the hang of it and understand what it takes to make a store successful I’m getting ready to add 3 more stores. In fact, I think I’ll go ahead and set them up through the Pepperjam Network and see how I do.

As I’ve always said this is not a get-rich-quick scheme but with slow steady growth I can be making some decent money here soon. If you’d like to know more about BANS or learn about the other ways I make money online please just contact me and I’d be happy to help in any way I can.

Build A Niche Store (BANS) eBay Affiliate Stores

Introducing Build A Niche Store!

When you hear “eBay” and “money” in the same sentence
you probably think of becoming an eBay seller …

Well I have a surprise for you because it’s the eBay affiliate program that’s taking the web by storm at the moment and a great program called ” Build A Niche Store ” (or BANS as it’s nicknamed). This program enables you to really dig in and profit from eBay’s huge marketplace … without actually selling a thing. That’s right … no watching auctions, no answering bidder questions, no inventory, no packing, no shipping … let me explain.

Build A Niche Store (BANS)

BANS is a product that helps us quickly and easily set up niche stores that showcase products that are currently up for sale on eBay. Our job is to simply research the niches we are interested in and to promote our stores … because we already know eBay will do their job … sell the products! They are the world’s largest online marketplace and they’re willing to pay us for driving buyers to their site. BANS is a valuable tool that allows us to set up niche stores quickly and easily … and I’m grateful I found BANS.

What is a BANS Store

The BANS product helps us build website stores that showcase products that are for sale on eBay. Through our admin area of our site we enter an eBay category number (or numbers) and/or search terms for the product that we want in our stores. The program is designed to instantly search eBay and fill our store pages with all of the products on auction that match our search criteria. This gives us a store full of links to these auctions. We are showcasing other people’s inventory and we help them by referring new buyers to their products.

I believe in treating others as I’d like to be treated so let me fill in some detail about the program and explain what it would take for you to get started with your BANS business.

How It All Works

There is no charge to get started with the eBay affiliate program and it’s fairly simple to learn about. As I mentioned, eBay will pay us to send buyers to their site. eBay provides us with an affiliate ID for tracking purposes. When we set up our BANS stores we enter our affiliate ID in the space provided and BANS will magically insert our affiliate tracking code into all of the auctions that are listed on our site. That way when someone clicks on any of the links in our stores eBay will know that we’ve sent that person to eBay’s site.

What Are They Paying Us For

We can get paid a commission by eBay two different ways. One way is when someone clicks on one of our affiliate links we will get paid a commission for ANYTHING this person buys on eBay for the next 7 days. eBay tracks and stores the “cookie” (identification) from our visitor’s computer for 7 days and tracks anything they purchase back to us. We get paid 50% of what eBay charges the seller to list and sell the item on eBay. For instance, if an item sells for $100.00 and if eBay charges the seller $5.00 in listing and end of auction fees … we get paid $2.50 for sending the buyer to them.

The other way we get paid is by sending brand new users to eBay. If someone follows one of our links and registers for eBay’s site (free and easy for them) and then they either place a bid or purchase using eBay’s “Buy It Now” feature … we get paid $25.00. This “cookie” tracking is for 30 days from the time they click through our link.

Drive Traffic ~ Make Money

So our job is to drive traffic to eBay. Plain and simple. The more people who click through our links, the more people who register … and the more people who bid and buy stuff … which means commission for us. I am very good at driving traffic to my sites and I will teach you how to drive traffic to your sites too.

What You Need to Get Started

BANS Product

You will purchase the BANS program for $97.00. It is a one-time fee and you can create an unlimited number of stores with this purchase. It will also give you access to the most helpful and active forum I’ve ever seen for product assistance. I am an affiliate for the BANS product so if you purchase it through my link please contact me right away. I have some very helpful bonuses for you that will help you get started successfully. I made tons of mistakes when I got started so you might as well learn from MY mistakes and do this the right way.

Domain Name and Hosting

You will also need a domain name and webhosting. Again, I’m an affiliate for what I believe to be the in the industry for these products. So, if you’d be willing to use my links for these products … I will thank you by helping you get everything set up and running smoothly.

A domain name will cost you about 10 bucks a year and hosting will cost you about 10 bucks a month. This type of hosting package will allow you to add an unlimited number of stores to the same account too. The idea here is to build several stores and grow your own portfolio of money making eBay affiliate websites.

Promote Your Stores

Once we have you all set up it’s time to start promoting your affiliate stores. This is where I really shine and I can help you learn how to do the same. I use mostly free methods and that’s what I suggest you do too to get started. I have paid for some of my web promotion tools and I can tell you more about them after you get the hang of everything. Some have more than paid for themselves and others I wished I’d passed on … live and learn. I won’t ever recommend anything that I don’t totally believe in … and that’s a promise.

See Some Sample Stores

Go to the BANS site now so you can see some sample stores and get a little better idea of how the product works. After you purchase your BANS product remember to shoot me an email. If you used my links I will get those bonuses out to you as promised and I can help you with your set up if you need me.

Meanwhile, please let me know if you have any questions … I’d love to help in any way I can. *SmiLes* Suzanne
