<—— A quick reminder to Retweet if you enjoy the post … Thanks!

Yesterday I decided to add the Tweet Meme plugin (far left - button that allows you to easily retweet this blog post) and I decided I wanted it to appear on the upper left of my post. I usually align my images to the left of the text so I decided it would look better if I moved the images to the right of the post.

I logged into my admin and did the edit to move the image to the right but it didn’t work. It showed it moved right in the admin panel but it wouldn’t move on the actual live post. I googled the problem and found a fix (so I thought). I decided to turn on the screen capture so I could show you how to “fix” this problem. I followed the instuctions and it didn’t work. As I was scanning the style.css file (where I was to put this “fix” code) I noticed some image code already in there. Sure enough there was an error in the code on this file.

Now … this might be a little advanced for some of you but I want you to watch this video so you can learn from this. If you do enough with WordPress (or any blog/site) you will eventually have a reason to dive into the code to look for something or to make some adjustments. (Hey … never say never! LOL).

The one mistake I made that I want to stress is that I should’ve copied that file on to my desktop BEFORE I started messing around with that code! That was if I did anything that didn’t work or “broke”something I’d have the page that I started with.

NOTE: I’m sorry the audio on this video has some weird background buzz … sorry about that!

I hope you enjoyed the video. I plan on doing a lot more of these videos to capture what I get up and do each day for “work.” Let me know if there’s something specific you need to learn and if I know how to do it I’ll do a video for you. *SmiLes* Suzanne

P.S. So … how do you like the Tweet Meme? If you enjoyed this post please try out the new button and give this a retweet! LOL Thanks!

UPDATE: My husband had the same problem on one of his blogs and I realized that I didn’t post a link to the code I was referencing in the video. (Sorry). So here’s a link to the post on the WordPress forum: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/202431

Hey Suzanne, great video. I’m still not too comfortable playing around with my themes code. But have been getting more courageous.

I do have a quick question about Camtasia - I see that you’re panning and zooming in on your screen, are you doing that as you’re recording? I want to do that but have’nt figured it out yet.

Tweetmeme is great - I have a video in the works for that too. Somehow I think you’ll get yours posted first though.

Just always be sure to do what Suzanne forgot (hehe) and copy all original code somewhere accessible for you.

With this done, no worries of messing it up, you just reinsert he original and start over. :)

Trust me it was bad enough that I did that (forgot to do that) but on film! Yikes! Could’ve been really embarrassing huh? LOL

Luca ~ On Camtasia I must have it set (no idea how LOL) to automatically pan and zoom. Then when I go to edit I have to delete several of them and edit the ones that stay. For those who don’t know what we are talking about the pan and zoom is where it zooms in where my cursor is to do a close up and then goes back out to the whole screen. It’s something that can be controlled during the editing process. I must be a spaz with my cursor because I end up with a ton of them and they’re all over the place. LOL Yes, I do plan a video on installing Tweetmeme … is yours ready?

The video is great! You did a good job with the pan/zoom. If I figure out where that got set on mine I’ll let you know. I think I’ll embed your video here … and I’ll screen capture as I’m embeding so we can kill two birds with one stone. LOL
