How to Schedule a Post on WordPress
Want to know how to schedule a post on your WordPress blog? Well, it’s very simple and I’m going to show you how to do it.
If you’re wondering why you would want to schedule a post on your blog there are a few reasons. If you are going to be out of town or on vacation, you know you have a very busy day or week coming up, you aren’t feeling well and know you might actually be getting sick, you are going in for surgery … or maybe you’re just feeling very productive one day … but instead of posting several times in a day you’d rather draw them out over time … whatever the reason it’s a very convenient feature so let’s get down to business.
Go ahead and write your post as you usually would and when you’re finished be sure you click the “save” button. Then look in the right hand column and find where it says, ”Publish immediately”.
Click the “Edit” text link next to Publish Immediately to reveal the timestamp options.
Then enter the date and time that you want the post to actually appear on your blog. You can choose a date that is days or even weeks away … pretty sweet huh?
Once you have done this, go back to the post and click “Publish”. Your post will automatically post on the date and time you’ve selected.
You can even edit an unpublished post’s timestamp.
So there you go … you are free to go on vacation and relax … and no one will be the wiser! Just be sure you send me pictures as a “thank you.” *SmiLes* Suzanne

Hey Suzanne,
I wanted to let you know right off the bat that I really dig your WordPress design.. There isn’t enough creativity in the blogging world regarding unique and custom themes.. More on topic, I use the scheduled posts feature all the time and find that if I can dedicated an hour or two to writing quality articles and then schedule them for release, its easy to cover my whole week and keep my readers interested… Great topic and excellent tutorial
Thanks,
Locke
Market Research Marketing’s last blog post..Marketing Target Market
I directed a client to this page because they have a imilar need, only they will have multiple people contributing the the blog with each person responsible for content on specific days for for specific events. My greatest need for scheduling a post is that I can’t time my inspiration. Sometimes, my posts come in batches of three or more because I’ve gotten into a writing groove. It seems silly to write a post, save it in a Word document, then try to remember to post it at a later time.
