How to Start a Blog – Brainstorming Ideas (Problems and Solutions) – Video Tutorial #2

We are on Video Tutorial #2 in my series on “How to Start a Blog” and today we are going to do some more brainstorming. On the last video we focused on brainstorming your ideas, passions, hobbies, interests, etc.

This time we are going to shift gears a little and brainstorm any and all problems you have that you would really like to solve.

Enjoy the video and then see my lesson notes below.

Notes and Outline from this lesson:

Today’s Lesson is on Brainstorming (Problems and Solutions)

  1. Write down any and all problems you have … could be with your health, your relationships, kids/parenting, debt … I even had a house fire a few years ago and recovering from that would fall into this category …
  2. Add these problems to your list especially if you have (or would) go onto the internet to look for a solution
  3. Don’t try to decide if there is a solution for this problem just yet
  4. Don’t try to decide if you could make a business out of this problem just yet
  • Write out EVERYTHING that comes to mind
  • Nothing is silly to add to the list
  • Do NOT try to figure out if you could make a business out of this (that’s another step we will get to … I promise)
  • Once you are done, you should start to rearrange your list putting the top 5 – 10 towards the top (they don’t need to be in an exact order) and then try to filter on down as you see fit

That’s it … that’s your homework to get done before moving on to Tutorial #3.

Hope you enjoyed it and please leave me your questions and comments. Your feedback is very valuable to me (and most likely to others) and I’d love to help you in any way I can. *SmiLes* Suzanne

Simply writing problems and solutions down on paper is very effective. As opposed to just thinking about it, writing down ideas tend to produce more ideas. Very essential for brainstorming.
