My 13 Year Old is #1 in Google Now! Wanna Know What We Did?

As you may or may not know I’ve been helping my son, Austin, with his own BANS site (Build a Niche Store) since October (his site was his birthday present LOL).
We worked hard on the keyword research and I taught him how to check out his competition and gave him some pointers in online promotion.
He did a great job setting up the blog and store and he has put up some decent content. He built a Squidoo lens and he spends some of his time participating on niche related forums (it’s a corn snake site).
After using as many promotion ideas as he could come up with he felt frustrated that he could never get the site to page 1 of Google (he could usually be found on page 2 somewhere).
Well, a couple of weeks ago I was using the 30 Minute Backlinks method on all of my sites and Austin and I decided to use it on his site too.
Here’s the text I got from Austin yesterday, “Yes! Mom!!! I’m num 2 in google for corn snakes as pets!!!” His traffic from yesterday was three to four times his normal traffic and so are his click throughs to eBay. As you can imagine he’s pretty stoked! (Today he’s actually #1).

No doubt, linkbuilding is very important in rankings and its anchors. One year ago, I was really reluctant to spend on such products but this years I have spent and even am spending more and more. I have no hassle spending on some project or application if it would work. It it will work then $97 is nothing as the price.

its great (and very inspirational) to see a 13 year old kid having success online. Guess the last time I heard of a 13 year online entrepreneur was Carl Ocab.

How does 30 minute backlinks work? They guarantee their work, I understand that but what exactly will they guarantee? The links being made or the SERPS? Two totally different things, ya know

If you decide to promote your site for notcompetitive keywords it shouldn’t take much time to get to the first 10 results. It’s harder for keywords like “make money” or “free mp3″

I had a look at the backlinks for your son’s site in Yahoo. There’s about 49, from memory. You can easily rank on a non-competitive keyword with a few backlinks, but not for competitive ones _unless_ they’re from authoritative sites and are blessed by the current Google algo, which is being a bit quirky, recently.

Why would I prefer this 30 Minute Backlinks when I can also access free backlinks to increase my web traffic? Aside from it, there are also free SEO linkbuilding tutorials I can access without a fee. What could 30 Minute Backlinks offer that the free backlink tools, sites, and tutorials could not?

for those who have commented that it’s not too hard to get into the top rankings for google for a “non-competitive” term … “corn snakes as pets” is not super competitive no … we build NICHE sites … so we only take on terms that we feel we can dominate and that will bring in enough traffic to produce some income … then we RINSE AND REPEAT for another niche. For this term there are about 880 searches per month … and he’s competing with 106,000 pages … so I’m very proud of him for beating out the other 105,999 pages! LOL … he went through the steps I’ve taught him … and it worked. Now it’s time for him to build another NICHE site … He has remained in the top 3 since this post … and he’s (and I) are very happy with the results. *SmiLes* Suzanne

Is your son still keeping corn snakes as pets? From what I’ve gathered through reader mail, corns are one of the most commonly kept of all snakes — possibly the most common.
