The last time I did an update on my BANS stores (EPN – eBay Partner Network – eBay’s affiliate program) here on the blog was for September and October 2009. Since I’m well overdue I’ll go ahead and update you on my earnings for the past four months.
Here are the numbers:
November $327.72
December $668.21
January $298.49
February $482.24
As you can see there has not been any real consistency in my EPN numbers. Truthfully, I have not yet spent any time researching the way eBay is now paying us for our referrals/clicks. One month my clicks for one of my stores is $.22 (22 cents) per click and the next month it might be $.06 (6 cents) per click. *sigh* It’s a bit frustrating!
If you are an eBay affiliate who understands this “new” payout method, please comment and let me know how it works (or if you’ve written about it send me the link so I can include it here).
Let us hear from you. Are you still sending eBay traffic? Have you changed your business model since the new payout? If so, who are you now using (i.e. Amazon, PepperJam, etc.). We’d love to hear from you on this. *SmiLes* Suzanne

Hi … My name is Suzanne Franco (Land) and I’m a wife (newlywed actually) and mother to 5 amazing kids (my 3 and his 2 – ages 9 to 16) and we live in the Texas Hill Country where we try to spend a lot of time in the water (river, boating, wakeboarding, the beach, etc.) and running from one kid’s sporting event to the other (mainly football, cheerleading, and soccer).

I’ve completely abandoned eBay’s affiliate program at this point.
While I’ve shifted the majority of my marketing efforts away from “niche store” type work, towards more generalized Internet Marketing stuff (like the video I sent you), even if I DID still do that type of site, I would most certainly NOT use ePN.
Some have continued to have success, but in my opinion they have really, REALLY screwed up big time and lost my respect and my business in the future!

I’m curious about the Niche Store Journey, you mention a video you sent out to Suzanne. Mind sharing it with me?
I still use EPN, will slowly make a transition to Amazon however, perhaps even pure adsense to try things out. I get a ton of clicks and sometimes no epc. So I’m thinking I can use those clicks to good use with amazon or adsense.
Respectfully,
Tony Tovar
Hey such an amazing store
Dear Suzanne,
Sadly, suzannefranco has been removed from our grad school preferred blog list.
I say sadly because our grad students very much enjoyed the articles you have on the blog.
Most bloggers don’t label as spam our grad student comments because they are definitely not spam.
However, unless you have specifically blocked ToysPeriod (one of our scholarship providers) as a home site, Akismet has made the decision for you and blocked non-spam items.
That is happening on all blogs with the Akismet plug in, forcing the College to ban WordPress for the purpose of grad courses, including this site.
If you would like to be included on the College’s white hat list once again, just drop me a line at avoisin@lindachristas.org, and I will once again list you as a preferred grad student destination.
If Akismet is blocking things that you haven’t designated as spam, you can contact them for remedy at Alex Shiel support@akismet.com or Matt Mullenweg at matt@mullenweb.com. Blocking spam is one thing. However, when valuable messages from people who you have worked to attract to your message are also being blocked, the potential customer, client, fan or in this case, grad student, just won’t return.
When Akismet boasts of spam exclusion, unfortunately, up to 30% of all messages blocked are not spam.
Hope to hear from you, so that we can reinstate suzannefranco.

Dear Suzanne:
Please check your spam folder. May comment is in there.
Thanks,
Dr. Ann Voisin
Sorry about the typo in the previous message. However, again, please check your spam folder.
The College has had to remove your site from the grad school preferred list because of Akismet.
I explain in the message.
Ann

I started using the EPN about 6-7 months ago with a few sites. It is hit or miss with earnings each month for me so far. I can see where if you find a good niche you could do ok. So far I’m still searching for that niche.

Hi Tim ~ I agree niche has a lot to do with it but for me keyword research and great SEO has been about all I’ve done. I’ll look at any niche where I feel the numbers are “right” for what I look for. If it’s being sold on eBay … there’s a market for it! Well … for that I suggest going to the completed auctions for that item/niche and making sure the stuff sells (green numbers sold and red not). Again, then it’s good/great SEO … let me know if I can help.
Wow nice and Very interesting blog…….thanks for the information.

It is a big differences between months profits. I dont use ebay;)
I am impressed with the content of the article. I have been trying this method and I have seen some real improvements. This method is very useful.
Suzanne those stats look great! I would say they are generally consistent even though you see them as being quite volatile. This is Jim from TheNetFool (I just switched my site over to its new location) and its great to see that you are still generating solid earnings on the net. Keep up the awesome work!

Hey Jim … new site is looking great
Yes, they are pretty consistent … again, I wish there hadn’t been so many issues with eBay and BANS …. I would’ve definitely put up more stores and probably be making more from them LOL I’m going go do some article submissions for the sites I have now and see if I can increase my traffic and earnings. Maybe one or two more stores … as time permits this summer. *huGs*
Dear Suzanne,
Yes, I ever join eBay’s affiliate program. But, my profit is not higher..Unlike you, You got much money from 4 ago. Could you tell me whats your tips??
Thank you so much
My best tip is truly getting really good at keyword research and SEO … let me know if I can help k?
Your stats are good, you’re earning =) However I agree with Tim I think you should look for a niche that is relevant to your affiliate program. Choosing the right niche will give you chances of reaching out for people that will look into the program you are involved in. Once you were able to target your niche, I bet your earnings will be consistent
hey very nice post
niche stores are always good and are easy way of making money online very fast and easily
i love to have my own niche store:)
hey
amazing post
i am new in using BANS so each and every tip is important and useful for me
thanks for sharing it:)
Nice numbers, how do you make visitors click on links? I can not earn even 20 dollars per month. Whats the secret?
.-= Cynthia´s last blog ..Are you insured to drive any car? =-.
Well … I can’t “make” anyone click on a link! LOL … but the more traffic the better. Again, keyword research and SEO …
I don’t have any experience to share but I think I need to take a look at this since I’m new to the affiliate marketing game. Thanks Suzanne!
Let me know if I can point you in the right direction k?
Hi Suzanne you’re earnings are really good. just want to ask what is their payment method? and more likely do you think it will work good on technology blogs?
Thanks,
Annie
They pay me via PayPal and I honestly can’t remember if they offer other payment methods or not. As for technology blogs … I don’t have any but I don’t see why not. For these stores they are not really there for … hmmm … high quality reading LOL … but more of an ecommerce style .. there to send people to eBay to buy something.
thanks for sharing the info and you knowledge here with us.
keep up the good work!
I have read a number of posts on your blog now but I have not noticed any Adsense unit on your blog.Don’t you use Adsense.I use it but I do not get much results with it so I just want to know how others are doing using Adsense on their blogs.

Yes, more traffic is the answer… Those are good numbers, you should be proud.
Our PPC program for one of our retail sites have been whittled down to acceptable levels. Our PPC is around 10 cents, CTR is about 5-6% and CONV is 6%. We can live with this for now.

I’m still learning from you, while I’m making my way to the top as well. I definitely love reading everything that is written on your website.Keep the stories coming. I liked it!
I always appreciate it when people post their online earnings; it gives entrepreneurs a realistic ballpark idea of what’s possible. This is important in the era of product hype “you can make a million overnight” etc. So are those figures just from this blog or from other sites also?
I *was* using amazon, until they decided to axe all their California affiliates with less than 12 hours warning. You have to be prepared for it, it’s one of the rules of the game – things are fluid in the affiliate world, and there’s no such thing as a guaranteed, stable revenue source.
Congratulations.
